Teens lead police on high-speed pursuit

By Reko Rennie

Four teenagers who took police on a high-speed pursuit in a stolen car from Geelong South to Belmont earlier this morning have been arrested.

Police said they noticed a black Ford Territory that had been reported stolen, travelling south along Moorabool Street, Geelong South around 1am.

Victoria Police said they attempted to intercept the car, but a pursuit began and continued along Moorabool Street with the stolen car allegedly reaching speeds of up to 140kmh.

"The pursuit continued onto High Street in Belmont where the four occupants dumped the Territory and the chase continued on foot," a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
